Family Get Together

Reid and Kim came in town this weekend to meet the newest member of the family, baby Grayden.  Before we all went out to Amber's house we made a quick stop at the Shelby Farms playground.  This has turned out to be one of Connor's favorite places to go.  There is so much room to run and even though there's a lot of people it doesn't feel crowded.

Why didn't they have these cool swings when I was a kid?!

Who do you think was having the most fun?

I could just eat him up!

I really expected Connor to be interested in Grayden, however, he was more interested in Kim's new puppy.  It's absolutely the cutest dog and Connor was having a blast carrying her around.

Baby Grayden

Baby Grayden has finally made his debut!  I know Amber couldn't be happier that he is now on the outside.  He was 19 days early and still came in weighing 9 pounds 9 ounces!!!

Big Boy!

The dads in the rooms were facebooking and texting

Amber's first time to hold Grayden

So sweet

Look at those stats

Garner is already a wonderful big sister

Easter 2012

Easter morning started off with Connor getting to look through his basket full of goodies!  Not only was it filled with too much candy, it also had two new movies and a few cars.  After he looked through the basket we headed to church and then went to Gigi's and Big Daddy's for an Easter celebration.

A lot of the candy was from last year, which I bet won't get eaten this year either

A few cars were in the mix too

Holly is one of his favorites because she's purple.

Easter basket #2 from Gigi and Big Daddy

Not sure who was more excited about the egg hunt!

Connor was very competitive this year with the big kids

Even at 17, Easter egg hunts are still fun!

Time to count...

We had a wonderful time celebrating with everyone and it was a great way to end a fabulous three day weekend!

First Buzz Cut

Connor got a haircut this past Thurday so he would be all spiffy for Easter.  Well things went wrong during the haircut and the outcome wasn't very good.  The lady who did his hair wasn't very patient and there is only so long that a 3 year old can sit still.  Needless to say, I knew when we left, a buzz cut was in his immediate future...which is definitely NOT what I wanted!

Matt told me to come outside because Connor was washing the truck

I was expecting to see the both of them scrubing away, but Matt was sitting in a lawn chair eating pistachios while Connor was "washing" (he was actually just spraying the truck with the water hose)...this seriously entertained him for a good 30 minutes!

I figured since he was already outside we should just go ahead and get the buzz over with

This was the end result!  There's definitely no more baby or toddler in that face, he's all big boy now...very sad

Of course, Matt loves the haircut.  I have to admit that it has started to grow on me and for Connor's sake he won't be so hot.

Trip To The Zoo

This past weekend, Caroline and I took Connor to the zoo.  We had this trip planned for several weeks and we were keeping our fingers crossed that the weather would be nice.  We got there right when the zoo opened and I was surprised at how many other people had the same idea.  We had two main agendas for the day, see the dinosaur exhibit and feed the giraffes.

The cat house is always my favorite

Connor's favorite this time was the elephants.

The giraffes were SO CUTE!  I remember when I was younger, I feed the giraffes at the zoo (can't remember where we were leaving at the time, I just remember the experience)

This was our giraffe, Stacey

For each feeding that you bought, you got 3 pieces of lettuce.  And then each piece of lettuce you broke into smaller pieces.

Isn't she so cute???

Next up was the dinosaurs and Connor was completely freaked out!  I thought he might like them since he watches Dino Dan on Nick Jr, but that was not the case.

This one spits water as you walk by

This is really the closest Connor would get and there was no chance of getting him out of the stroller

I have to admit, if I were his age, some of these dinosaurs would be pretty scary

Notice Connor's legs, he put them as far away from the dinosaur as possible

All in all, we had a terrific morning at the zoo!  By the time we left, the place was packed and it was starting to heat up for the day.

Chris' 30th Birthday {Sky Diving}

Chris turned 30 today and to celebrate Caroline bought him a sky diving package.  Matt was a little envious of Chris, but I told him he couldn't jump until he had full life insurance coverage!  The weather couldn't have been more perfect for the jump, not to mention we got there right when they started jumping out of the plane.

They really looked like they were just floating, although I'm sure that's not how it felt

He survived!

I have to admit he looked a little pale waking back to us, but he said he had a blast

He kind of looks like a pro sky diver

Not really what you want to see when you walk into the sky diving office

Connor was being his normal shy self.  For some reason when he gets nervous/shy, he sticks his tongue out like this.  I told him one day he's going to bite it off!
