Randoms

Since I kind of fell off the blogging bandwagon for a while, I have a lot of random pictures to catch up on.  So here's a post of nothing but random pictures...

Ms. Winnie gave Connor an Otter beanie baby, which has become his new best friend.  Otter goes everywhere with us!

Sometimes while I workout, Connor will bounce his energy out on the mini trampoline

This was another find from Ms. Winnie's garage sale, thanks to Gigi

This is what happens when he insists on doing it himself

Nothing like a McDonald's breakfast on Saturday morning

Matt and Connor made a trip out to see the moo moos

His boots are so cute!

My sweet boy isn't a baby anymore...

He added a new train to his collection...as you can see, he likes to wear his boots with shorts (I try to choose my battles wisely these days...this was not a battle I wanted to fight)

So there you have it, our life in random pictures!

Spider Bite Progress

So it's been about 3 weeks since Matt was bitten by a spider.  The bite happened on a Friday or Saturday and by the following Tuesday, it looked bad enough to go to the doctor.  The doctor decided that the bite needed to be numbed and then lanced to drain it.  Since the infection was so deep, Matt had to go several times to have the packing changed.

This is how it looked before his first doctor appointment.

It was very swollen...no after pictures because I couldn't even look at it.

After the third time, the doctor decided to leave the packing out and let the wound finish healing.  He also received the test results back from the culture.  The results confirmed that it was a brown recluse spider bite with traces of staff.  I'm happy that it is healing and it wasn't any worse, but I'm very anxious for it to be over.

Of course Connor had a boo boo that required a bandage

The older Connor gets, the more he wants to be just like Matt...very sweet!

Baby Dog

About a month ago, Chase saved a puppy from the scary streets of Memphis while he was working.  Apparently someone tossed the puppy out of a car on a busy street and Chase just happened to be there to scoop it up.  His neighbor (who works for a dog rescue) met him to pick up the puppy and take it to the vet.  The vet said that it was only about six weeks old and had some injuries from being tossed.

Of course we knew Connor would enjoy having a friend chase him around the yard for the evening.  We told Connor we were going to see visit the "baby dog".  I figured if I said baby, he would be a little bit more gentle (I was right).

For a brief second we thought maybe we would adopt the "baby dog"...like I said, a BRIEF second!

Plum District

Today I saw several people talking about Plum District on their blogs.  The concept is basically the same as Groupon and Living Social.  However, the one thing that really caught my eye was the Erin Condren deal.  I have been eyeing her Life Planner as a replacement to my momAgenda ever since I saw it mentioned on Blue-Eyed Bride

The deal was pay $25 for $50 worth of merchandise, so now I just have to decide what I am going to order!  It'll probably be the Life Planner, but she has so many cute things it's hard to decide.

I'm anxious to see what other deals Plum District has to offer in the future!

Workout Buddy

With our beach trip quickly approaching, I have decided it's time to start working out.  It probably would have been better to start working out at the beginning of the summer, but there's nothing like a little procrastination!

Jillian Michaels has been kicking my butt and I've never felt SO out of shape.  I feel like contestants on the biggest loser are more in shape than I am (it's really kind of sad).  Besides Jillian, I have finally dusted off the elliptical machine!

Tonight Connor decided to join me during my workout.  While I was on the elliptical machine, Connor was on the 1980's stair stepper.  He really surprised me by keeping a good pace and there was no way I was going to let a toddler beat me!

Then he decided to take a break to do the 'sit n spin' that Brinkley got him

Finally it was time to stretch for our cool down

He actually broke a little sweat during his workout

Could he make it look any easier???

2 1/2 Year Check Up

This past week Connor had his 2 1/2 year check up.  It's hard to believe that he'll be 3 soon!  The doctor's appointment went really well.  She was happy to see how much his speech has improved and he seems to be staying on the same growth chart curve.

Stats:
weight 32 lbs (75th)
height 36 in (45th)
head 20.5 in (95th)

Other than having to work on getting rid of the paci at nighttime, there really wasn't much else we needed to work on.  No shots until kindergarten and he doesn't have another well child check up until he's 3.  She also said that his tubes were still in his ears, so I'm hoping those will be helpful during the germy winter!

HOT

HOT is the only way to describe Memphis these days.  It's so hot that staying indoors is about the only thing I want to do.  With that being said, we haven't really been up to much and I have been slacking on taking pictures.

See where it says "Feels Like 113"??? They are NOT kidding!

Here's Connor testing out the police car at Toys R Us (which we did not buy).  We went with the intention of buying a big wheel, but decided he's still too young to figure out the concept of pedaling.

Connor's been going through a growth spurt lately and his little body has been requiring extra sleep.  He fell asleep watching TV on the couch, which NEVER happens.

Living proof that a paci isn't required for sleep! (I haven't really tackled that issue yet...)

Our own little Harry Potter...Connor's nails grow so fast, I just can't keep up with it.  Obviously I was one day too late on the nail clipping!

In other news, Matt was bitten by some kind of spider on his arm this past weekend.  He finally went to his doctor last night because it kept looking worse.  The doctor decided to lance the bite and drain it.  Matt thought it would just be a little nick on his arm, but the doctor had a different plan.  So after an arm bandage and an antibiotic shot in the butt, he should be on the mend soon.  He has to keep it bandaged for a week and then go back for a follow up. (I'll refrain from showing pictures)

So I guess we have been a little busy, but it hasn't been anything exciting!
