7 Months

I can't believe that Connor is 7 months old today. We definitely have had our share of laughs, cries, and more laughs. You never truly know what it's like to be a parent until you are walking in those shoes. Each day I wake up and hope that I can do something to enrich Connor's life a little more than I did the day before.

Connor, here are some highlights about your life now:

- You weigh close to 17 1/2 pounds
- You wear size 3 diapers and your clothes range in size from 6-12 months (depending on the brand)
- You still sleep through the night (which you will never know how thankful I am for that)
- You drink about 26 ounces of formula a day and eat 3 meals and a bedtime snack
- We are still holding off on bananas until a later date, but right now you will eat just about anything
- This month we have started to introduce meat and so far you love chicken!
- You still have no teeth, but I know they're in there
- You've become a professional roller
- You are completely in love with your Johnny Jumper, the teachers at daycare call it your "Happy Place"
- You've started to wave at people when you first see them and when we walk away
- And I swear that you say "HI", but I might be reading a little bit into that

I'm anxious to see how you change in the next month, but at the same time I wish you could just stay this way forever. My favorite part of the day is watching the excitement on your face when daddy comes home from work. (It's what someone else's face would look like if they won the lottery.) Words cannot express how much EVERYONE loves you!!!

Costume Trial

The weekend wasn't very eventful, which is always a good thing these days! Friday night we just hung out as a family and relaxed. Saturday we went to the dentist as a family and everyone had their teeth cleaned (except for Connor of course). Then Saturday night, Grannie Lonnie watched Connor while Matt and I went out to dinner to Elfos. We had planned on seeing a movie, but dinner ran over so once again we missed it. On Sunday we had our Hope class and there's only one more class to go! After church we went to the mall in search of tennis shoes for Matt, but we weren't successful.

While at the mall, I saw something I just couldn't pass up!!!

I'm talking about the chicken costume (that cute baby is mine)! Gigi got Connor a pumpkin costume, which still might be this years costume. However, he isn't growing as quick as I thought he would be. So when I saw this one, I had to get is just for a back up (the tags are still on).

After the mall, someone definitely needed a nap, but me telling him that wasn't working. So I gave him the magic potion (a bottle) and he was out.

He took a nap in our bed, which NEVER happens and I think he thought he was in heaven!!!

After the nap it was time for dinner, which I think is Connor's favorite time of the day besides the Johnny Jumper. I have been desperately looking for teething cookies that are NOT banana flavor and it is just not working. So I had a light bulb go off when I was at the store...

A vanilla waffer!!!

And it was a success!!! Don't worry, that isn't all he ate for dinner. He enjoyed his green beans and rice just as much as the cookie.

Well we are off to another fun week in the Jones' house. Matt is going out of town on Wednesday to move his dad to Oklahoma. And with Grandpa Dennis moving, that means we are one step closer to moving to the Davies Plantation house. I thought moving just me was hard, now I am really in for it. We'll need a truck just for all of Connor's stuff!!!

Someone's on the move. . .

Well this past week has been nothing short of eventful. I'll try to recap the events for you in a condensed version. First, Matt worked an 84 hour week (which I am so glad it is over). In the middle of all of that, I found out that I had strep throat, which completely drained all my energy. Connor started his new daycare, had an allergy test, and CRAWLED! Now when I say "crawled" it's more like he scooted, but what's the difference.

The allergy test went well, there wasn't anything that stood out which is good and bad. It's bad because I don't really know how to stop the eczema, but it's good because he can have a normal childhood where he can eat, play, do whatever he wants.

Connor has a new found love for his Johnny Jumper. There was a time when I thought he would never like this thing, now I can't get him out of it!

Notice anything on his feet?!?!?

Connor is one stylish infant with his Nike shocks! Surprisingly he doesn't mind wearing them and I think they give him extra bounce!

And here's a video of him in his Johnny Jumper...definitely too cute for words!

Pitiful Baby Connor

Since I've become a new mom, I've also become a worrier. I mainly just worry about things that pertain to Connor, but Wednesday really put me to the test. Connor was sent home from daycare Tuesday afternoon because of a fever. I honestly thought they were making it up because this isn't the first time he's been sent home with "fever". But this time it was true!

Tuesday night was a rough night for me, because I am so used to him sleeping all night long. That is definitely not the case when he is sick :( Wednesday morning rolled around and I could not even get out of bed because I was so tired. Not to mention that I couldn't send him to Big Daddy's and Gigi's if he felt bad, he really needed his mommy. For most of the day he ran a fever of about 101 and I finally called the doctor. They fit us in right away and we were in and out of the office in 30 minutes (thanks to the new pediatrician). She said that it was a viral infection and it was just going to have to run it's course. So we went home and all he wanted to do was cuddle, he was so pitiful and so cute at the same time.

Today he got to spend time with Big Daddy and have a boys day. For those of you who have child who go to daycare the worst thing is fever, because that is an automatic extra day out. Thank goodness we have family close by to help us out!

Here's a picture of Connor after he finished his applesauce and blueberries for dinner (I felt so bad for him that I didn't make him eat his vegetables for the day). He has a wet paper towel on his head because it was just burning up! Matt said I was horrible for taking a picture of him when he felt so bad, but these are memories. . .

Shots = Cranky Connor

So the weekend started early for me on Friday afternoon. But don't think that I was laying out by the pool, I was actually sitting in the doctor's office for Connor's six month check up. For those of you who don't know, we have switched his pediatrician and this was only our second time to see her. The first time we saw her was about 3 weeks ago for his rash issues and wouldn't you know I'd pick a doctor who was due to have a baby in August. Luckily she hasn't had her baby yet and if everything goes as planned she'll be back from maternity leave just in time for Connor's nine month checkup.

Connor's checkup went great as always! He weighs 17 pounds and is 26 1/2 inches long and Dr. Lankford said he is right on schedule. We did discuss the eczema issue and we both have decided that it would be best for Connor to see an allergy doctor and be tested. Some people don't believe that food allergies and eczema flare ups are related, but after his episode with bananas I believe they do. So I will be scheduling that appointment tomorrow, hopefully they will be able to fit him in soon! The appointment ended with three shots, which always breaks my heart.

For the rest of the weekend we just relaxed and tried to conform our schedule around Connor since he was extremely cranky from the shots. Saturday night we had Chase, Cassie and Big Phil (Chase's dad) over for a cookout. Cassie helped put Connor to bed while I finished getting the side dishes ready for dinner. However, Connor thought they were playing a new game because he was talking and laughing with her when I checked in on them!

Here are some pictures from the weekend, I kind of got on a roll!

Sippy Cup 101: Connor has to be in the mood to use his sippy cup, but so far he seems to like it. Don't get me wrong, he still LOVES his bottles!!!

It's taken some time, but Connor is now loving his exersaucer. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact he plays in one a lot at school. Gigi will be so happy to see the smile on his face!

If you look in the background you can see the car toy. Matt saw this and thought it would be perfect and Connor agrees!

Here is Connor and Mr. Monkey. . .

Here is Connor talking to Mr. Monkey. . .

And here is Connor loving on Mr. Monkey!

I tried to take a picture of us, but it's a little tricky getting him to cooperate. I'll have to keep practicing!

Connor is wearing a yellow bracelet...do you see it??? (I thought Matt would appreciate this one)

See the little hand reaching for the toy???

This was Connor's face when I called his name...Who couldn't love a face like this?!?!

"Show Us Your Wedding Dress"

KellysKorner is hosting "Show Us Your Wedding Dress." I am excited about this one because this is my first weekly post to Kelly's Korner! I have to say that if I had to pick another dress all over again, I would pick the same one. I absolutely love the dress and it happened to be the second dress I tried on.

I loved the beading and lace of the dress. I just keep thinking that this looked like a timeless dress and that is what sealed the deal!

This is a close up look at the lace and some of the beading.

This is the back view of the dress and you are able to see the champagne sash that wrapped around. The dress had an empire waist, which was very flattering!

This is the picture I always remember when I think about our wedding day. I absolutely love this picture of us, it definitely shows how happy the two of us were that day!

Thanks for letting me share this very special day with you!

6 months and a trip to the zoo!

Connor turned 6 months yesterday and we decided to take a trip to the Memphis Zoo. This past weekend, the weather was unheard of for Memphis because usually it is about 100 with 90% humidity, well this whole weekend it was in the 80's!

The day started out with our class at Hope to become members of the church. Connor enjoyed himself in the nursery and of course flirted with all the little girls. Then we went and had lunch with Chase and Cassie before we all headed over to the zoo. Obviously everyone in Memphis had the same idea as we did about going to the zoo, because it was packed! Poor Connor had a hard time seeing the animals because of the level he was at in the stroller. (Plus he really didn't know what he was looking for when he looked in the cages) However, there were two exhibits that he absolutely loved. The first was the pengiuns! I think that he loves them so much because he watches the cartoon Madagascar every morning. The second favorite was the aquarium. Connor got so excited that he would squeal and kick his little legs, it was so cute! Other than that he could have cared less about the rest of the animals. The other special treat of Connor's day was his first taste of shaved ice. Not just plain shaved ice, pink lemonade shaved ice! (he couldn't get enough of it)

Connor's six month appointment is on Friday, so I will do another post then with all of his updates. But here of some of the pictures from yesterday and some other random ones...

You can tell it was a long day!
