Connor has had a horrible last 2 weeks and just can't seem to catch a break! He had an ear infection 2 weeks ago which we treated with antibiotics. Then he went for his 12 month check up and the doctor checked his ears and now the other one was infected. Since he was almost done with the antibiotic, the doctor decided to give him a Rocephin shot (this was on top of the 3 check up shots he already had to get). She told me to bring him back in a couple days to make sure the infection was gone and of course it wasn't. Connor went to the doctor Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and he had to get a Rocephin shot each day.
Since it snowed/iced Friday afternoon we didn't do much, which ended up being a good idea. Connor had been cranky all day so I thought it was the ear infection. Later that night, Connor started pucking and then I remembered...on Thursday when I picked Connor up for daycare the teacher mentioned something about a couple of the kids having the stomach virus. Sure enough that is exactly what Connor had! I felt so bad for him, I would have rather had it myself than him have to go through that.
Well I'm not sure if Matt had that same thought, but his wish was granted today. So currently I am taking care of two baby boys and I am just praying that I do not get it. Connor was still feeling pretty bad today to the point that he doesn't even want to eat (definitely not him). I'm going to see how he is in the morning, but he may be taking another trip to the doctor.

12 month check up
Connor had his 12 month check up on Friday, which he did not enjoy at all! He previously had an ear infection that should have cleared up because he had been on antibiotics for 10 days, but he now has an infection in the other ear. Since the antibiotics weren't working, he had to get a shot. The shot wouldn't have been too bad, except he had 3 others to get from this check up.
The doctor had good things to say about his progess. He is currently 25 lbs (75%) and is 30 in (25%), the height seems to be wrong to me but she said he will sprout up and thin down this year. Other than that everything went great. Sitting in a doctor's office with a toddler who wants to do everything himself is very challenging to say the least!
Getting caught with your hand is the cookie jar is what I think of when I look at this picture. I told Connor that we had to wash his sippy cups first and not to stick his hand in there. But he apparently knew best, which led to him really getting his chunky wrist stuck in the dishwasher!

Happy Birthday Connor!
I can't believe that a year has already passed!!! So here is what you have been up to:
- You just started wearing a size 5 diaper
- You still wear size 12 mos pants and 18 mos shirts
- You wear size 4 new balance shoes
- You have 6 teeth (4 bottom 2 top)
- You still sleep through the night and take about two 2 hour naps every day
- You're taking more and more steps each day
- You'll eat anything and everything
- Generally you are the happiest baby around, however you weren't very happy for your big party!
- You weigh 25 pounds
- Not sure how long you are, but we'll find out Friday at the doctor
WE LOVE YOU!!!

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to...
and that's exactly what Connor did! For everyone who knows Connor really well, you know that is completely out of the norm for him to be cranky. He had an ear infection earlier in the week and I think that all the people plus not feeling 100% set him over the edge.
Even though Connor wasn't having a good time, I think everyone else did. We ended up having about 30 people come over. We had Lenny's sandwiches and cake, which was perfect because I didn't have to cook! We had a few memorable events during the party...first, there was a big vase on the mantel which fell off and shattered on the floor. Matt proceeded to clean up the mess of glass by vacuuming. Then the vacuum started to smoke with made the house smell like burnt rubber!!! But all in all we had a really good time; I just wish Connor would have had more fun. Maybe next year we will just go out for dinner!

Here is Connor and his new friend Jake.
Connor isn't used to having other kids playing with his toys...can you tell?
This picture makes me laugh...Connor was trying to be a good sport and this is his fake smile!
He didn't want to have anything to do with his cake.
This was the dining room table.
I absolutely loved the cake!!! The lady who made our wedding cake made this cake.
The party favors were boxes of candy!
Here's Connor with his fake smile again.
Cake "take two"...still not having it, but at least there were no tears!
He at least attempted to open presents, this is a big improvement from Christmas
He is begging daddy for another nap...this would be nap #4 for the day and it wasn't even 5.
It was like Christmas all over again!
Here's Matt blowing up the ball tent. If you look closely at Matt's eyes, you can tell he is multitasking by watching the game.
Here's the ball tent!

Walking---Check!!!
I cannot believe it...Connor took his first steps for us tonight!!!! (Although I have a feeling he has been practicing at daycare for a little while) The best part is that I caught it on video! I am just so proud of him and couldn't be happier. Take a look...
This was earlier in the night when Connor was riding on the race car he got for Christmas...

This time last year. . .
I was waddling around the house 9 months pregnant and thinking that Connor was never going to come. Each week I would go to the doctor and there would be no changes. Little did I know that in a week, my life was changing forever!
Connor has learned quite a few new things this past week. We have started using a fork and working on not dumping our plate on the floor. (We are SLOWLY making progress)
Connor has also learned how to climb stairs. This past week Matt found him halfway up the back stairs. Connor tried to turn around and ended up tumbling down the stairs with Matt catching him right before he hit the floor. Needless to say, both stair cases are now blocked with gates!
The other thing that he has discovered is that the kitchen cabinets open and there is stuff inside! By the time Connor is done with it, everything is on the floor. (We are in the process of putting cabinet clips on)
Since Christmas, Connor has so many toys he doesn't know what to do with all of them.

He was obvviously looking for something in particular!
Can you see the teeth?!?!? (Look on the bottom) There is now a total of 6!!!
I don't even know if this shirt is appropriate for school...but he wore it anyway. (Thanks Gigi!)
Connor thinks that this is the best thing to do, besides eating of course. Poor Matt loses about 2 handfuls of hair everytime.
Memphis had "snow" this week so daycare was closed for the day. We took him over to YaYa's the night before just to be prepared. He had a great time like always! Garner also was off school so they were best buds for the day!
Here's Connor in his snow suit that Granny got him. He also has started standing on his own. He is so close to walking!
See all the "snow" we got!!!

Christmas 2009
This past week has been full of events, so I'll try to recap...
Christmas Eve- Connor didn't have daycare and I had to work a half day, so Connor went to work at Morgan Keegan. He did so good and I'm really proud of him! Robbie kept Connor pretty much entertained the entire morning.
That afternoon, we went home so Connor could nap and I could start cooking. After nap time, Mimi and Papa came over to open up Christmas presents.
That evening we went to my mom's (Gigi's and Big Daddy's house) for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. After dinner we open up presents and lets just say that Connor was completely spoiled (this is only round 2 of presents for Connor).
Christmas- We had breakfast as a family and opened the rest of the presents under the tree. Later in the afternoon, Gigi and Big Daddy came over to see what all Connor had gotten. Then we went to Granddaddy's house to open more presents.
Day after Christmas- We woke up and went to the airport to pick up Grandpa (my dad), who was just in for the day. Connor opened another present and spent quality time with Grandpa before we took him back to the airport that evening.
Sunday- Granny (Matt's mom) came over around lunch time and it was time once again for Connor to open presents. She definitely went over board with the clothes and toys. (I didn't get any pics of those, so I'll have to post later)
Then later that evening we went to YaYa's house to do our last round of present opening. Connor always loves to go over there because he knows that he will get to play with Garner and that YaYa will fix a wonderful dinner. Once again Connor was spoiled with presents and he just didn't know what to do with everything!
Now let's do a quick count...that means we have celebrated Christmas for the past four days, with a total of opening presents 7 different times. We now have so many toys that I've had to convert our dining room into a play room!!!
Matt and I had a wonderful time this Christmas season being with family and most of all being a family ourselves. We are thankful for everything we have and cherish all the memories of Connor first Christmas!

Kristy absolutely loves Connor, so she didn't mind keeping an eye on him at work
He started to get a little restless, so we had to break out the candy cane...it did the job (at least for a little bit!)
Robbie discovered that Connor loved to sit in the rolly chair and ride...he would even hold onto the arm rests!

Rachel is so sweet and she is always on the flooring playing with Connor
Here he is in his Christmas pajamas...it's a bunch of sock monkeys
He ended up getting a monkey that went perfect with his pjs!
He's attempting to open a present, most of the time we had to open the presents for him
Bradley was being so good with Connor, even though Connor was trying take Bradley's present

Grandpa got him a dump truck and Connor loved dumping the blocks and putting them back in...he must be learning how to clean up!
