Party Planning Mode

It's hard to believe that Connor's 2nd birthday is just a couple of weeks away! Last year time flew by and I felt like the party didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted it to.  So this year I started preparing early!

I decided on the theme before Christmas, which elevated a lot of stress through the holiday.  I had the same lady who designed our Christmas cards, design the birthday invitations. I absolutely love how they turned out!

Can you guess the theme?!

I can't wait for the big day and I hope he has blast! (It's so sad that my baby is going to be 2)

Snow Day

Most of the kids in the South had a Snow Day today and I'm sure they couldn't have been more excited.  We usually have 2-3 "snow days" each year, but this time it was truly a SNOW DAY!  Memphis ended up with about 4 inches and it looked so pretty.

I remember when I was in school, I would anxiously wait to hear if we were going to have a snow day.  Now I dread the possibility of a snow day! When the schools are closed, Connor's school is closed (which adds a whole new dimension to a snow day).

Not only do I have to find a sitter for him, I have to pack up everything for the day, drive across the city and hope I end up at work on time.  But Connor's excitement over the snow this morning made up for all of those worries and concerns.   It was like Christmas morning all over again! He just kept saying "Snow mama! Snow Mama!".

Connor had to have his 'bite' (which is a Pop Tart) while we went out into the snow

Then he fell down, but don't worry he saved his 'bite'!

He wasn't happy that there was snow on it

When Matt came home, it was time for Connor to try out the sled

He did really well!

All in all, we had a wonderful snow day!

Christmas Card 2010

I love how out Christmas card turned out this year!  I had the card designed by someone on Etsy (my new favorite website to shop) and then had them printed at Costco.  Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Head Elf

Connor wore his Head Elf t-shirt yesterday to school and he looked so cute!  He grabbed my camera and handed to me while saying "cheese".  Uncle Ryan was also over that evening and Connor wanted a picture with him too.  Usually Connor is really shy for about 15 minutes when anyone comes over, but he ran right up to Ryan and gave him a big huge.

Tonight Connor wanted to wear my scarf and dance around the living room while he watch The Fresh Beat Band.  It's the simple things in life that amuse him!

Checking It Off My List

This weekend didn't go exactly to plan, but that's nothing new around here.  Connor and Matt were going to go to Oklahoma, but Matt ended up getting really busy with work.  I did some Christmas shopping first thing Saturday morning and it was wonderful because I was out of the mall by 10:30!  Later that afternoon we all ran to Target, but Connor had ants in his pants so we didn't stay there for long.

Saturday night my mom and I went to a wedding and the reception was at the Peabody.  Everything from the church to the reception was absolutely gorgeous!  The ceremony didn't start until 7, which meant it was going to be a late night.  I didn't end up getting home until midnight and I was exhausted.

Sunday was spent laying around the house.  We had a fire going all day (I even kept it alive while Matt was at the farm, very proud of myself).  I finished all 75 Christmas cards, which I will happily mail tomorrow morning.  I also wrapped most of the presents and put them under the tree.  So far Connor hasn't started unwrapping them, but we still have a couple of weeks until Christmas!  All in all, it was a very productive weekend and I was able to check a bunch of things off my list!

I forgot to take a picture of Connor's 2010 ornament, this year he has a cow angel.  I picked this one because that has been one of Connor's main animal noises.  When I tell him Matt's at the farm, Connor's response is "daddy moo moos!".

I got this idea of getting an ornament every year for Connor from Bebe (Caroline's grandmother).  One day when Connor has a tree of his own, I'll give him all of his ornaments and bam he's got about 26 ornaments that have a lot of meaning.

I hope this week goes as fast as last week did!

***I'm aware that I haven't posted any pics of Connor for quite a while, I promise I'll fix that soon***
