Welcome to Motherhood!

This past week of motherhood has been an eye opening experience for me. Connor wanted to make sure that I was cut out for this job! The week started on Sunday with Connor waking up with pink eye (doctor called in medicine right away), which by Monday afternoon had turned into a high grade fever. Then comes a doctor's visit on Tuesday morning and we left with prescriptions for an ear infection! By Tuesday afternoon, the other eye starting to look bad. Finally by Wednesday he was able to return to Colleen's house, but that didn't last long. Early Thursday morning Colleen called to say that she wasn't feeling good at all and thought it would be best for Connor not to come (turned out that she had strep throat). Then on Friday, I had to stay home because I had come down with a sinus infection. All in all, we survived the week (not to mention that Matt was out of town for two days of this drama filled week). I did explain to Connor that he didn't have to come down with everything at once, he could have eased me into caring for a sick child (but judging by the smile he gave me, I think I passed the test). This is how he looked for most of the week:

Photo Shoot

Connor was a natural for his photo shoot at Tara and Todd's on Friday! Tara and Todd were the photographers for our wedding and they definitely captured some great pictures of Connor's personality. Here are just a few of them...

Happy Easter!!!

With Connor's first major holiday quickly approaching, we decided to start getting in the spirit of Easter. The weekend started off with a visit to the Easter bunny at the mall. Of course Connor slept through the entire thing (I guess I should be thankful that he wasn't screaming). As soon as we got done paying and walked away from the bunny he was wide awake!!! Next, we went to Target to get his first Easter basket (complete with grass and plastic eggs). When we got home, I couldn't help but to put him in the basket. And to my surprise he fit! So I decorated the basket with the grass and then put him in and topped him off with eggs. Here are the pictures from our weekend...

2 months and 3 shots later...

Connor went for his 2 month check up last Friday and he is definitely a growing boy. He weighs 12 pounds and is 23 inches long! The doctor said that everything was looking great and she was happy to see him doing so well. I knew that he was going to have to have shots, I just wasn't sure how many. Well, he had to have 3! It broke my heart having to watch him get the shots, I've never seen him so red from screaming. I know he won't remember the experience, but I definitely will!

I have survived my first full week back to work, although it was very difficult. Connor is enjoying his daycare arrangements with the Foster's and I don't know what baby wouldn't! I couldn't have asked for a better place for him to start out at. Colleen has been my guardian angel through these first few months and I probably wouldn't be this sane without her. Clare has become very attached to Connor and greets him at the door every morning. Here are a few of the latest pictures of the little man:

7 Weeks Tomorrow!

With time quickly passing by, Connor will be 7 weeks old tomorrow! Connor had a little check up at the doctor last Thursday and we got an update on his stats. He is a whopping 11 pounds and 22 inches long! (I was starting to notice that the carrier was getting a little heavy during our outings) Everything is going well, however I start back to work on Wednesday. It is going to be a very hard week, but I know that he is in excellent hands! Here are a few updated photos of Connor laying on his monkey mat:

One Month

It's hard to believe that it has already been one month since Connor was born. I remember everyone at my showers saying be careful because once you blink he is going to be all grown up and that couldn't be more true! It seems like it was just yesterday that I was going to my routine doctor's appointment, now I am almost done with my maternity leave :(

Connor is doing very well and growing like a weed. He probably weighs close to nine pounds and is starting to wear clothes that aren't just newborn size. Matt and I are looking forward to the night when we sleep more than three hours in a row, hopefully that will be sooner than later. Other than that we couldn't have asked for a more perfect son and we couldn't be happier!

I finally figured out how to add pictures to our site! So here we go with Connor's debut...

Connor weighed in at 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Proud Daddy!
Proud Mommy!
True Memphis Fan!!!

First professional pictures, they were taken the day we left the hospital.

First bath in his rain forest bath tub (there was a lot of screaming).

Right now, Chase and Connor are sporting the same hair style!

Connor's very first Valentine's Day!

Obviously upset that he is not getting a bottle at the moment, he has no problem speaking his mind!
