18 Month Check up

Last week Connor had his 18 month check up.  Everything went really well, except for our 2 HOUR wait!  By the time the doctor made it into the room, I was about to loose it.  She could definitely tell I was more than just a little unhappy, needless to say the appointment went very quick!

Here's Connor pretending he was in a fort underneath all the chairs in the waiting room

Then he got bored of the fort and decided that the chairs could turn into a jungle gym!

Connor weighs 27.7 pounds (70th percentile) and he is 32 inches tall (35th percentile).  She said his ears looked beautiful, which was music to my ears.  Obviously the tubes were the right decision for him!

Instead of reading the Cat in the Hat, he thought it was more fun to drop it on the floor...do you see why I was getting irritated just sitting in there???

The one thing the doctor was a little concerned about was his vocabulary/speech. The words that he knows are Mama, Dada, Bye Bye, Hi, Ball, Bubble, Gigi, Yaya, Mimi, Balloon, Please, Uh oh and Night Night.  As you can tell the majority of those words are names.  We are going to try to work on his speech for the next couple of months and if it doesn't pick up we will have to go back for some additional tests.

Connor couldn't escape the check up without two shots.  Bless his heart, he was crying before the nurse even stuck him.  The upside is that he should be chicken pox free!  This was the first appointment where Connor could really remember what happened earlier in the day.  By the time we got home, he was walking with a limp (from the shots) and pointing to it saying "Ow we".  He was especially dramatic when I removed the band aid!

All in all we had a great check up and the best part is that we don't have to go back until he's 2 yrs old.  (Which is almost scary to think that he will be 2 in six months!)
