Happy Halloween!

We have had a very busy weekend and I can't believe that it's almost Monday already!  Saturday started out bright and early in Germantown for the annual Race for the Cure.  This was our first year to participate and there was definitely an extra meaning behind it for us.  I was amazed at how many people were there!

I was very impressed with the boys showing their support!

Connor loves his Yaya!
Did I mention how cold it was? But Connor looked so cute in his sock monkey hat!

Germantown Dental Group

Yaya, Kristy and Bobo

Connor loved all the balloons that were floating away

After the race, we headed home so Connor could take a couple of naps.  He was starting to feel better, so we thought we would head out to Bobo's house for the Halloween Party.  The Halloween Party was so much fun and Connor had a great time trick or treating.

His cute monogrammed pumpkin worked really well, thanks Ashley!

This was the group Connor went trick or treating with.
Garner and her friend were vampire princesses, then we had Adi and Tucker Memphis cheerleader and Memphis tiger (they were sister and brother, so cute), Connor the monkey, and then Hunter the dino.

My cute monkey!

Can you tell by the expression on my face, how heavy Connor is to carry around?

Connor really wanted Reid to wear his monkey hat.

Connor did so well trick or treating and seemed to really enjoy himself!
Brandi once again took some very cute pictures, I wish I could take her everywhere with me!
*** Don't judge me because my almost 2 year old has a paci with his Halloween costume, paci=sanity this weekend!

Then today, Connor woke up and was back to square one in regards to how he was feeling.  So Connor and I hung out inside all day while Matt did the leaves in the backyard.  I cannot believe how MANY leaves we have!!!

Matt will be taking Connor to the doctor in the morning and then he's off to Yaya's for the day.  Hopefully we'll get some good news from the doctor that this is just a virus going around and he'll feel better in no time.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a Happy Halloween!

Perfect Timing

It never fails that when we have a bunch of activities planned, someone ends up getting sick!  Well this time, it was poor Connor.  Yesterday I had a dentist appointment and he had a hearing test.  I went to get him up for the day and noticed he had gotten sick in his bed (sometime during the night).  So I got him up, stripped the sheets/blankets off and we went downstairs.

I gave him some water to drink and sat him on the couch.  While I was in the laundry room, Connor came running in saying "Oh no, Oh no!".  He led me back to the couch where he had gotten sick again.  Bless his heart, he looked so pitiful for the entire day.

He's still sick today and is resting at home with Aunt Pat.  Unfortunately, he missed his Halloween parade/party at school today.  But we're hoping he'll start feeling better so he can participate in the Race for the Cure with Gigi tomorrow and then the Halloween party at Bobo's house.

McDonalds Memories

When I was a little girl, I remember having Happy Meals with my grandparents during their Meals on Wheels route.  That is the first thing I thought about when I saw Connor being a big kid eating his Happy Meal.  Matt was out of town for a couple nights this week, so this was a quick and easy dinner!

They have the fun Halloween buckets as the toy right now

He loves to dip his fries in ketchup

BIG kid, only needed to use one hand!

While we are taking a trip down memory lane...This past weekend we went to Yaya's house to visit everyone during the garage sale.  Connor spotted Garner's Barbie Jeep and had to try it out!  It wasn't charged, but at least he kind of got the idea.  When I was a little girl, I desperately wanted a Barbie car but that didn't happen for me until later in life (thanks dad!).

I see a Man Jeep in Connor's near future
(Hint hint grandparents!)

Just A Normal Car Ride

Connor is very animated while riding in the car.  However, he picks and chooses which songs to dance to.  His favorite type of music currently seems to be hip hop.  He's dancing never fails to put a smile on my face, no matter how bad of a day I have had.  It's the little things in life that I love!

Thank Goodness for Little Boys

Connor's newest obsession is to sweep the leaves on the driveway.  He grabs the broom out of the garage every time we come home from school.  All I can say is, thank goodness for little boys!  Since Connor is so excited and willing to help, he can now take my place as Matt's yard work helper.

Once again, the free stuff is what he likes to play with the most!
Forget all of the toys in his playroom.

Did you notice my cute mums and pumpkin in the background?

Family Pictures Revealed

So, remember those family pictures I told you we took this past weekend??? Brandi did a fabulous job (especially since she was dealing with a cranky client)!  Here are a few...

I love this one (if only I didn't have 4 chins in the picture)!

See Harry Potter's scar???

Hopefully when the weather gets cooler we can take our holiday photo.  Matt's polo shirt doesn't really scream 'holiday card' to me!  (Connor will also have to practice on smiling)

If you live in the Memphis area, I highly recommend Brandi at Eclectic Creations Photography.

Pictures and a Party!

We had a wonderful weekend, especially since we had a special visitor! My dad was in town from Denver and it was great to see him.  Connor had so much fun playing all kinds of games with him.

He came into town Friday evening and we also had some other visitors, Mimi and Grandaddy.  Needless to say, it was a full house and Connor wasn't shy about putting on a show for everyone!  My dad got Connor some of the cutest pjs.

On Saturday, we finally picked out Connor's Halloween costume.  We also went to a special little girl's 1st birthday party.  Brinkley was so cute and loved ALL of the attention.  Not to mention, she got some fabulous presents (Connor kept eyeing everything).

Here's a little preview of the costume

How cute is she on her new pony???
This is the only picture I could get since Connor was glued to my hip!

On Sunday, we attempted to take family pictures out at the Collierville Square.  "Attempted" is the key word of that last sentenced.  How was I supposed to know that when I scheduled this back in July that it would be 90 degrees in October!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we got some good ones.

Then today, my dad and I took Connor to the zoo.  It was the first time that I have really enjoyed myself there.  We went early so it wasn't crowded at all and it hadn't gotten too hot.  My poor dad is probably exhausted tonight from carrying Connor through most of the park!

All in all, we have been doing well and staying busy.
